DOMUS MARIAE

DOMUS MARIAE SCHOOL

Domus Mariae is a modern secondary school at Kerarapon, off Ngong Road, established in 2008 to assist academically outstanding children from unfortunate backgrounds. The school provides quality education and life skills with a keen orientation towards rehabilitated street children, HIV/Aids orphans and gifted children from poor families.

In its effort to give such children access to adequate, equitable and quality education in line with the Millennium Development Goals, the school pursues the following specific objectives:

  • To improve access to primary and secondary school facilities by vulnerable groups of students, with special emphasis on modern technology

  • To empower poor and vulnerable groups through participatory partnerships, learning by doing, information sharing and leadership training

  • To encourage continued pursuit of higher education by the targeted group of students

  • To instill ethical values that stimulate leadership skills, democracy, self-esteem and respect of fundamental human rights

Academic Life at Domus Mariae

Domus Mariae follows Kenya’s national 8-4-4 school curriculum, which prescribes four years of secondary school, culminating in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations at the end of the senior year.

Computer classes are also available for every student, while French is provided as an optional subject.
