Yassets is an imaginative short form of the phrase “Young Satellites”.
Started way back in 1993, the club was one of Koinonia’s first initiatives in the Riruta Satellite area.
Yassets Football Clubaims to develop and promote young people in Dagoretti Division who are talented football players. The club has seen impressive results, with the Senior Boys’ Team A participating in the Kenya Super League.

Apart from football, the club is involved in the following activities:
- Talent identification: The club helps young people with talent in sports to further their skills.
- Rehabilitation and counseling: The club has initiatives that endeavour to nurture the behaviour of young club members, forming them into moral, responsible and socially upright citizens.
- Enhancing inter-personal relationship: The club aims to bring together young people, both boys and girls, from different socio-cultural and economic backgrounds. Through continuous interaction, they learn to appreciate each other regardless of their backgrounds.
- Encouraging community participation: This is achieved mainly through involvement in voluntary community cleaning projects.
- Self-awareness and HIV-AIDS awareness: Through organized talks and workshops, the club strives to sensitize club members on self-awareness, with regard to the dangers of HIV/AIDS.
- Improvement of the living standards of young people: The club has a long term vision of improving the living standards of young people through the creation of jobs and other income generation activities.
